...Gold

"I'm gold babe, catch me in the slipstream,
passing by the fools who just don't know
pure gold babe, you're looking at the real thing,
if you knew my worth you wouldn't let go"
Gold - Beverely Knight

Modern, British soul diva, Beverely Knight - amazing voice - is heading to Scotland's north east this August. I recently voiced an ad to promote her concert in the grounds of 800 year old Fyvie Castle - it's all happening on Saturday 13th August. Get your tickets here! Meanwhile, treat yourself to a preview of her stunning live vocals here...

...University

"the northern lights of old aberdeen, home sweet home to me"
- traditional folk song

Just completed! New ads for University of Aberdeen. Having lived in the beautiful granite city for several years - and very close to the Old Aberdeen campus, I may be biased but...it really is a great place to get an education! Find out more about the silver city by the sea here. Meanwhile, I'm also currently working on e-learning projects for Scotland's Colleges.

...giving

I have found that among its other benefits,
giving liberates the soul of the giver.
- Maya Angelou

No one has ever become poor by giving
- Anne Frank

For it is in giving that we receive
- St Francis of Assisi

I love the concept of giving back to my sources of inspiration. So, I recently updated my Ethical Policy, to include favourite social initiatives and charities. I may be able to offer complimentary voice overs for these organisations. Either way, I'll donate back or reduce 50% of the agreed fee. If you're creating environmental or humanitarian campaigns with these charities or other ethical initiatives, I'd love to work with you:-

Water Aid
Marine Conservation Society
Greenpeace
Friends of The Earth
Oxfam
Save The Children
The British Red Cross
Amnesty
Peace Direct
*MacMillan Cancer Care
*Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland

*I've specifically chosen the above health care charities because I prefer to support medical organisations that don't test on animals.

Monday

...Canada.

Hello! I'm just back to work following an amazing holiday in Vancouver & Canada's sunshine coast where we stayed in a "tent" house overlooking the water. That's me in a kayak pretending to be Pocahontas. You can check out more photos and reflections on this beautiful country here. Also, this week's Voice Of.... is Chief Dan George, one of my favourite voices of wisdom - a poet, speaker for the people of Canadian First Nations and inspirational Chief of the Salish Band, Vancouver....

The beauty of the trees,
the softness of the air,
the fragrance of the grass,
speaks to me.

The summit of the mountain,
the thunder of the sky,
the rhythm of the sea,
speaks to me.

The strength of the fire,
the taste of salmon,
the trail of the sun,
and the life that never goes away,
they speak to me.

And my heart soars.

Chief Dan George
